Patio Installation in Lowestoft, Suffolk

We were hired to complete a new patio & timber fencing installation at a property in Lowestoft, Suffolk. The area at that time had an area of decking which was starting to fall into disrepair hence the need to replace.

The job started with the uplift and removal of the old decking area. We then dug down around 150mm / 6 inches for the sub base to be installed. This is a crucial part of the installation process as this will support the patio through its lifespan helping to stop any movement in the patio.

The sub base is then thoroughly compacted using a plate compactor to make a nice even, sturdy and flat surface.

The porcelain paving slabs were then laid on an appropriate mortar and levelled off to ensure a slight slope away from the house to make sure water drains away. We were also able to install 3 decorative areas to the paving to add some visual interest. The gaps between the paving was then filled with a hard-wearing outdoor grout designed to withstand harsh weathers.

This then allowed us to install the timber fencing to finish off the job and bring it all together.
